My name is Tamara Auger, and I’m a psychotherapist in private practice.  In my over 25 years of
experience in the mental health field, I have come to specialize in working with women and the issues that
tend to present themselves in a woman’s life.  This list includes, but is certainly not limited to:
assertiveness, sense of self, and transitions, just to name a few.

My philosophy is that, as humans, we are growth oriented and we all want to function to the best of our
ability in our lives.  No one wants to feel depressed, or inadequate, or overwhelmed.  But so often we just
don’t have the skills or the knowledge or the support necessary accomplish and maintain that by
ourselves.  Women, esp., suffer from the expectation that they should be everything and do everything for
everyone else.  Leaving themselves for last comes naturally for most women, but it also results in many of
the issues that I see over and over again in my practice – a sense of emptiness, loss and failure that
shows up as relationship problems, self-esteem issues, depression, anger, etc.

In my practice I work with women on these issues, helping them identify the problem areas and finding
solutions, if there are any.  Sometimes there’s not a straightforward solution, and you just need someone
to listen – so I do a lot of that too.

I am a licensed and certified professional counselor, and I am also one of a small group of therapists
nationwide to be certified as a Master Therapist of the American Psychotherapy Association.  I love what I
do, and I would love the opportunity to talk with you about your concerns and issues.
