I have over 20 years experience of successfully helping people as a psychotherapist/counselor solve their emotional, relationship and/or substance abuse problems. Together we will formulate actions designed to identify and achieve your goals and impediment as quickly as possible. My work is cognitive, based upon changing the way one thinks and acts. This allows an individual to feel better and live a more fulfilling life with less anxiety. Insight is helpful, but how you change and what you do will really positively impact upon your life as quickly as possible. This is all conducted in a warm, receptive, caring manner. I possess a Master of Arts degree in Human Development and Social Relations from New York University. In addition, I have completed all the course work for my Ph.D., and must now submit my dissertation (Ph.D., A.B.D.). I am currently in private practice in Astoria, New York City. I have been a therapist, supervisor and clinical director at licensed mental health clinics and at substance abuse treatment facilities, both in residential and clinic settings. I am experienced in dealing with all diagnostic categories such as anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. I have work with families and couples, and addressed relationship issues. I have treated people with all types of addiction and substance abuse issues. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of NY (LMHC), a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) as well as a Registered Counselor with the National Association for the Advancement of Buprenorphine Treatment.
